Will Murray's police interview actually help defense?

Posted: 12:00 PM ET

The audio recording of the police interview with Dr. Conrad Murray just days after Michael Jackson's death will be strong evidence for the prosecution... but HLN correspondent and In Session anchor Ryan Smith points out it could end up helping the defense.

In a way, he says, it allows the doctor to testify in his own words, but without having to be subjected to cross examination.

Get up to speed on the what happened in the Conrad Murray trial each morning on HLN's "Morning Express with Robin Meade."

Follow Ryan on Twitter: @RyanSmithTV and get gavel to gavel courtroom coverage of the Conrad Murray trial on HLN. Also from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET every weekday on In Session on truTV.

Here's Michael Jackson's official toxicology report

Posted: 05:29 PM ET

Click to read the official Michael Jackson toxicology report.

Now that prosecutors have highlighted the prescription drugs scattered throughout Michael Jackson’s home, Thursday's second witness, criminologist Dan Anderson, has been testifying on which of those drugs made their way into the pop star’s body.

Anderson identified a host of powerful prescription drugs in Michael Jackson’s blood, including the sedative propofol and other anesthetics.

The toxicology report indicates the following six drugs were detected in Jackson’s system:

  • Propofol (Diprivan)
  • Lidocaine
  • Diazepam (Valium)
  • Lorazepam (Ativan)
  • Midazolam (Versed)
  • Ephedrine

But here is the actual report itself, prepared by the L.A. County coroner's office and presented today in court.

Complete courtroom coverage of the Conrad Murray trial airs live on HLN from gavel to gavel and is on In Session from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET every week day.

4 gallons of propofol? Pharmacist takes the stand

Nancy Grace tells Dr. Drew, 'Murray is undercharged'

Posted: 10:15 AM ET

Dr. Drew welcomed Nancy Grace to his show Wednesday night and it wasn’t long before the feisty former prosecutor weighed in on the day’s stunning testimony in the Conrad Murray trial.

Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, but right off the top Nancy told Dr. Drew how she believes that Murray is being undercharged.

“This should have been charged as a murder one,” Nancy said. "It's very confusing, but murder one requires intent to commit the act – not to kill."

Gloria Estefan: I had feeling Jackson would die young

Posted: 08:20 PM ET

During Gloria Estefan's visit to the Joy Behar Show, the conversation quickly turned to the Conrad Murray trial and Michael Jackson. Estefan and Jackson were label mates at Sony and were also friends for many years.

Estefan remembers always thinking of Jackson as a child, never as a man.

"He was just fascinated by everything. He never had a childhood and that really hurt him a lot," she told Behar.

Eventually, she says, the pressure of being the King of Pop caught up with him.

"He kept raising the bar and raising the bar… I just thought all that pressure was going to cave in on him."

Watch a clip from her interview with Joy Behar:
