Jury deliberations begin in Drew Peterson murder trialPosted: 11:08 AM ET
The jury began its deliberation at 10:37 A.M. on Wednesday morning in the Drew Peterson murder trial. After the jury was dismissed, Judge Burmila instructed the alternate jurors to go to a separate room. Peterson's attorney Steve Greenberg argued that the law mandates that he release the alternates once the jury has begun deliberations. Burmila said he would defer his ruling until the attorneys have the case law to back up their position. The counts against Peterson are:

In 2001, Peterson filed for divorce after Savio was made aware of his affair with the then 17 year-old Stacy Cales. Peterson and Cales bought a house down the road from Savio's home, in the same Bolingbrook neighborhood. Kathleen Savio filed an Order of Protection against then husband Drew Peterson in March 2002. Peterson was served with a Domestic Violence Act Summons requiring him to appear before the Will County Court on April 1, 2002.
