Michael Jackson fans kicked out of court for staring at Dr. Conrad Murray

Posted: 08:40 PM ET

Dr. Conrad Murray in court for his arraignment on January 25.

In Session’s Jean Casarez was in court at the time and witnessed the incident. Casarez says that during a status hearing Wednesday afternoon some Michael Jackson fans stared so intensely at Dr. Murray it prompted the court deputy to remove all the spectators from court. The only people left in the gallery were members of the media.

Despite this distraction, Judge Michael Pastor managed to get some work done. Jury selection was briefly touched upon in open court. Prosecutor David Walgren told Judge Pastor that there are a fair number of jurors that both the state and defense agree upon. Judge Pastor took the attorneys back to his chambers to discuss jury selection in greater detail, outside the presence of the media.

Before leaving for his chambers, Judge Pastor deferred his ruling on the admissibility of a study from Chile that shows oral ingestion may not kill. Judge Pastor also deferred his decision of the admissibility of "This Is It" press conference video. There will be another hearing to discuss issues with jury selection tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET.

I'm a fan of MJ but I don't agree with these people who are in court glaring at Murray. They are making a mistake doing that.

I do feel the doctor had no business giving propofol to his patient at home for insomnia.

Please let this trial play out. thank you.

kathy   September 22nd, 2011 8:27 am ET

....wow....this is just the beginning....
Michael was such a good person.

cameron   September 22nd, 2011 9:56 am ET

poar michael even if he is dead

glenda raysor   September 22nd, 2011 10:21 am ET

I too am and always will be a MJ fan and for many reasons one being he was a wonderful man. Let's be peaceful and pay attention, an not be foolish remember we want justice. WITH LOVE

Now, about the staring, I am not for any dissruption or misconduct, but II didn't know that it was against the law to stare, it happens all the time. Murray sure seems to do a lot of complaining.

casie   September 22nd, 2011 10:58 am ET

Media is getting it wrong. It was Murray who was first staring at the fans. So us fans just returned the gesture.

Robin   September 22nd, 2011 11:51 am ET

I don't understand MJ being considered a "VICTIM". He abused his body for years, and was going to get his plastic surgery and drugs one way or another. Remember Elvis ? The doctor is also guilty for giving the drugs.

Aiyannamahoney   September 22nd, 2011 1:15 pm ET

I am mj bigest fan he is a good man when i hard he had die i was shoot i was crying and i was watching this is it and the jackson 5 movie i love him so much but he well be a live because who love he and care for him he love kids and work hard for his family&friend&fans god bless you and micheal you will in all owers hearts and owers souls

Angelness   September 22nd, 2011 2:42 pm ET

Umm since when is where I look and how against the law? This isn't constituional because it isn't illegal and he can grow balls if he is so worried by some people staring at him. Really I would'nt be able to do because the guy killed my hopes and dreams and is pretty damn ugly. But Imma say this, if I was there, people would definaely have something to stare at but then again, that would be yet another case to worry about.....

Somebody read me my rights!

sunsets55   September 22nd, 2011 3:21 pm ET

i don't feel any sympathy for conrad murray, his negligent actions caused someone's death!! and the nerve of his defense to say it was all mj's fault??? again, he didn't know what the hell he was doing, so maybe he shouldn't have done it in the first place!!

sunsets55   September 22nd, 2011 3:23 pm ET

again, a VICTIM is someone who suffers at the hand of someone else. michael jackson was a victim of a bad doctor who didn't seek out the proper help for his patient and instead decided to give mj some 'quick fixes' instead of REAL treatment. again, it doesn't matter who the victim is, how they lived their life, someone else caused their death...it's not the victim's fault!!

Richie Von Pink Pearls   September 22nd, 2011 10:02 pm ET

I really don't like how they take all the spectators out of the court room just for staring! Really? Is it that much of a problem you gotta kick them out for staring? Com on.... I think Murray really took his chances. His patient only wanted sleep, SLEEP! Not to be dead!? Propofol won't cure insomnia at ALL.

I hope murray gets what he deserves. If you ask me, everyone was out to get Michael, his catalog and his kids and everything he owns. Who better to destroy him other than his own Doctor!

Michael, the haters will get their days.. Just you wait. Your singing in the heavenly choir without a care in the world.
See you there.

Jasper Williams   September 22nd, 2011 10:29 pm ET

Dr. Murray was an opportunist that was on the payroll (150,000 a mo.) to keep Michael Jackson alive. I don't care what Michael Jackson had in his system Dr. Murray was negligent when he administered a powerful anesthesia that should be used in a hospital setting.

Strawberry Crepe   September 23rd, 2011 12:57 am ET

Whoever started the glaring contest, Murray won because the MJ fans were given the boot. Whether fans realize it or not, they are repping the peaceful and loving Michael Jackson. Kinda childish to have a playground staring contest anyway.

d bain   September 23rd, 2011 3:39 am ET

The consumption, the administering, whatever, should not deflect what the patient should have received the second he was in trouble. Immediate medical attention. This death was a result of no care at the brink of that moment. The drugs he used needed 100% care. That was the doctors job.

Lily Speers   September 23rd, 2011 8:13 am ET

Rich people get what they want. If anyone really cared about Jackson, there would've been some kind of help for him which he obviously so badly needed. I blame the family more than the doctor.

nathaniel jackson   September 23rd, 2011 12:28 pm ET

If this trail is about conrad murray, why is it that you're talking so much about mr. jackson instead of the person on trail. we know nothing about mr. murray. his life where he`s from. yet it seems that you are placing mr. jackson on trail. He's dead so now tell us about the man responsible for his tragic death.

dano   September 23rd, 2011 12:44 pm ET

Dr Murray would have given MJ shots of Kerosene if he wanted it. It's all about money ie $150,000? not a year but a month.....

I do believe Dr. Murray does need to held accountable for his actions. I know he has not been found guilty yet but I think the good Doc has some splainin to do..

Susannah   September 23rd, 2011 2:19 pm ET

Michael Jackson was murdered. As you can see, he is bringing in a lot more money dead than he was bringing in alive at the end of his life. How very sad.
They claimed he was broke when he died which is a lie. Anyone that was smart enough to buy a large portion of the Beatles catalog (which Michael Jackson did a number of years ago and he never sold it), will never be "broke".
I truly hope that Conrad Murray rots in jail as he murdered this wonderful talented genius.

NORMAJEAN   September 24th, 2011 1:04 pm ET

WHAT???? You can't look at someone any more? So what the fans wrote death threats on their eyelids and blinked alot? OH COME ON!

Judy Lowe   September 25th, 2011 3:07 pm ET

Michael's family were certainly MIA on this subject. The rest of the Jackson 5 have gotten MORE air time since Michael died than in 20+ yrs when he was alive.

lee   September 26th, 2011 5:38 am ET

Jackson was a drug addict. He acted stupid and way out there.

Don   September 26th, 2011 3:09 pm ET

We must all wait for the testimony to begin before making judgement. as to how MJ died or who is to blame...It appeared Micheal Jackson was a drug addict. I assume Dr Murray was there to monitor him and not kill him...Common sense, why would he want that nice payroll to stop?...He definitely would not have profited from his death.

lee   September 27th, 2011 4:22 am ET

Yes it appears that he was a drug addict. You have a point in regard to the "payroll." I am assuming also that he was not there to kill Jackson and would want to continue to profit from taking care of him. Good point.

Pockets   September 28th, 2011 12:08 pm ET

I just want to know one question. Why would Dr Murray tape a conversation of MJ, what did he really have up his sleeve?

PRINCESS   September 28th, 2011 11:57 pm ET

I love Michael's music. When i heard that Michael was death, i felt really bad. God is the only person who knows what really happen. Michael was suffering really bad. Imagine, he couldn't sleep, how sad is that. He had a great talent, we should remember him like that. If the doctor Murray is guilty or not, does not make any difference because Michael is death. Michael's problem start since he was child. He could not play like any regular boy outside because he was famous. That was really sad. I guess we should let him to rest in peace.

Jen   September 29th, 2011 11:34 am ET

Dr. Murray, is just that A DOCTOR!! You would NEVER give someone propofol to someone in their HOME!! This was a recipie for disaster. I'm not saying he intentionally meant to kill that man, but giving someone a drug like that in their HOME is reason alone to try him. What was he thinking???

Jen   September 29th, 2011 11:45 am ET

Listen drug addict or not, this case is NOTHING like the Elvis Presley case. Dr. Murray did not prescribe pills to Michael Jackson, HE GAVE HIM A DRUG THAT IS ONLY GIVEN VIA IV IN A HOSPTIAL SETTING! This was not some medicine that you can just go to CVS and pick up. This is hospital grade medication that is carefully monitored with cardiac and oxygen monitors and in case of emergency medications to reverse the effects as well as a way to intubate a patient and breath for him if he should STOP BREATHING!!! He should have NEVER been supplied that drug in his HOME! There was NO emergency equipment to protect Michael if things went wrong.. and one had to anticipate things going wrong when you give a HOSPITAL medication to someone in their home. Dr. Murray did not try to HELP Michael Jackson, he was motivated by greed and in the end, was trying to cover his behind knowing that he killed this man by LETHAL INJECTION.
If Michael was a drug addict or not.. Dr. Murray gave him this medication and KNEW better!!!

Adams   September 29th, 2011 2:14 pm ET

Why did Murray record Micheal while under the influences of medication? What was Murray's motive in doing so? In CPR training, you never stop CPR, unless some else is available to take over. Why wasn't this procedure followed? If it was, Murray wouldn't have had the security Alverz collecting bottle, bags of medication or Murray himself collecting medications and placing them in a bag!

Question: Murray says, "Micheal had a pulse when the MT's arrived", then why was Micheal laying on the bed, lifeless? If he had a pulse, "Why wasn't CPR conducted" by Murray while the securtiy guard was present and until the MT's arrived to take over? Or if this was factual, "Why was Murray in the hallway, when the security guard came up, if Micheal Jackson had a pulse"? The security guard could have taken over, but never on a bed. CPR is done on a flat surface, not on a bed with one hand!

Adams   September 29th, 2011 2:35 pm ET

Why is Micheal being blamed for his own death? How could he place his own IV on himself and set the medication drip? Murray claims, "He left Micheal for 2 minutes while using the bathroom" and it would be reasonable to believe Micheal was a sleep! If he was a sleep, than how can he have gotten his hands on any type of medication within that short period of time?

Further more, When Murray took advantage of Micheal by recording his statements " Micheal wanted to take the money and build the largest..Michieal Jackson Childrens Hospital". Even under the influence of a medication, he wasn't thinking of himself, but of the children who need medical assistances.

Why would this man, who loved his children with his whole heart, take a chance of ending his life. The defense stands of blaming Micheal for his own death, is ridiculous. Murray, needs to take responsibility for his neglect in the care of Micheal Jackson. Only a complete coward, would blame a man who can not defend himself for the obvious reasons. Murray left children without a father, a mother without a son, brothers and sister without Micheal in thier lives. When Micheal was a live, if the family was so close, Why wasn't the brothers and sister listed in his Living Well, once his mother Katherine could no longer take care of his children? Why wasn't anyone of them listed to step up to the place and take responsibility for his chldren?

trudie   September 29th, 2011 5:10 pm ET

they keep bringing up how Michael was a drug addict if that was the case at this time why would the Doctor leave any kind of Medication where they could be easily be at the hand of the addict that he claims he was trying to help get off them. I am not a doctor but after working and dealing with addicts i know that is one thing you don't do. its like putting a bottle of booze in front of an alcoholic and expecting them not to drink it.The men needs to step up and take responsibility for his part. and they need to also go after any other person who supplied the prescriptions Michael was on,because it was just him. to many star's are dieing because of theses doctor handing out pills like they were candy. and it's not only Star's it regular people too. the Law needs to get involve and stop these legal drug pusher's

trudie   September 29th, 2011 5:14 pm ET

I don't believe that Michael son or the other two children should be put on the stand. that's just sick they have been though enough. Don't do to them what was done to there DAD. Leave them alone.

charlotte brewington   September 29th, 2011 9:40 pm ET

I grew up listening to the Jackson Five and I remian a live-long fan of all the Jacksons. What hurts me is that Michael was surrounded by enablers. Bottom line is Dr, Murray is one of those enablers who got caught up with the greed. He was reckless and and this is what lead to the ultimate demise of Michael Jackson.

charlotte brewington   September 29th, 2011 9:43 pm ET

I think that ultimately the time of death with put all the pieces together leading up to his demise. Until then, I rest my case.

Darlene Smith   October 4th, 2011 11:41 am ET

Dr. Conrad, I personally think you slacked up on your profession, and during the time you was on the phone something went wrong. You know this deep in your heart that you messed up.I don't think you did it intentionally but you have to pay the price for your wrong doings. Why put the family and his fans through the heart ache of a trial. In my opinon 4 years is a small price to pay.Micheal Jackson is the one who paid the biggest price for your error...his LIFE!!!
It breaks my heart to see you sit there as if the world is picking on you.A young lady outside the court spoke as knowing you personally, and how you loved Micheal and you were friends well if that is so then why wont you just admit that you was wrong and deal with your consequences, thats what a real FRIEND would do.

Anna McDaniel   October 4th, 2011 6:01 pm ET

well dr. conrad murray I hope you get what you deserve and why becasue you murder michael jackson and took the only father Paris, Prince, and Blanket ever had and now there father is gone for good and you should of though of that when you were taking care of michael jackson. Also you should of not told the kids not to see there dad dead on the floor because they all ready saw what was going on with there dad and thats why they were upset because of there dad dead. But I hope you lose your medical lisence and why because this whole problem was your falt and you didn't know how to do cpr and you should of toke a cpr class for problems like michael or anyone had and god not happy with you right now ever. So if you do go to jail for good I hope you think of what you did to michael jackson and why. also you should of known that michael jackson was a drug addict part of his life and why and you better think of what you did to the jackson family, friends and fans also.

Anna McDaniel   October 4th, 2011 6:11 pm ET

hay dr. conrad murray I have another thing to say and why because when you became a doctor you should of know that propofal is used in the operating room and icu only at the hospital and not outside the hospital at all and if this would of not happen michael jackson would of still been alive and with his family, friends, and fans to day and he also would of got to do his new future movie plans but hes gone and not with us that means his future movie plans got crushed because of you and because of what you did to michael jackson.
