You must understand that being the president of the united states requires you to "Do the right thing" so Mr. Obama will always be under the spotlight. If killing the fly was the wrong thing so be it. He did it anyway.

PETA people are laughable but at least they know that an insect is an animal. Last time I checked, insects belong to the phylum arthropoda (along with crustaceans and arachnids) and are part of the invertebrate group of the animal kingdom.

PETA, Wow, shame on them!
Let's take a look at this situation. When human committs a crime they are tried, punished and maybe put to death or serve life in prison, correct?

So, what makes a fly different. A fly blows on your food, lands on your face and skin, goes through the garbage and becomes a maggott. Most severely, a fly can bite you and cause trauma to your skin. Seriously, how inhumane of PETA, intendig to file chargesagainst the president for protecting his territory from danger or harm!

This is exactly the type of injustice that starts the topic of racial descrimination! PETA needs to be seen by the NAACP, slander and libel are crimes and you need to be charged and punished!

lmao,being from the south our heritage is one that embraces fishing and hunting now dont get me wrong i dont and never will condone needless or in humane treatment of animals. but ask peta what happens when they put one thier ''scantly clad mermaids" on a floating dock and harress fishermen. or send women wearing only cabbage leaves in to dove fields beating drums and pans with sticks. and let's not forget what happens when they release those zealot idoitic men into field to as they said ,,wrest the murdering weapons from their cold hands by force. been there saw it all,, wonder why they condone abortion? guess it ok to kill humans

Total Ridiculous, the entire incident and all the fallout and commentaries afterwards!!! This country has more important matters to attend to than worrying about a dead fly. And a fly is an insect! Not a animal, not a plant!

This is TOO silly for words! I mean, really!

My dog, Panda, catches them in mid air and kills them (I thinks she eats them sometimes, too, by the way). Neat little trick she learned on her own too! What am I supposed to do NOW? Buy one of those katcha bugs thingies and teach HER how to use it anytime she feels compelled to want to murder a fly or any other insect??

I use to be all for the work that PETA does (or at least has done in the past), but lately, they seem to be putting forth some really LAME stuff (the Ben & Jerry's thing, and now this).

These days, I guess they really are living by the words "ANY publicity is better than NO publicity."
