I would just like to comment on the article about Ms Anthony. I quite agree that she may possibly have done it but the fact remains why are people assuming she is guilty before any proof comes in a courtroom,

I hate it when people stereotype.

Not every Black man is a descendant of slaves. Barack Obama's paternal family are from Africa and have been for generations. There are no slaves in his family tree.

But, I understand, it makes The Dream sound so much better, doesn't it?
After all, we elected GW Bush, twice, because he was a descendant of Presidents.

Yes we have made mistakes like any other presidential term. This has been called a Holy War and these so called terriosts have been held and have been treated better than in their own jails as it was shown on a special report. But at the same time we were felt to be safe with no more attacks on this soil since 9/11; and other programs were implamented for us to follow so safety and securety can be felt by all. So lets not be so quick to point fingers and be judgemental.

I find it odd though that they call him President Ellect Obama and they call him Mr.Bush. He is not even out of office. Am I the only one who see and think this is odd. And of a descendent of slave which he is only half and his grandparents are white why the slavery word keeps creeping up is beyond me.Otherwise we would be hearing a descendent of this and descendent of that." It is what it is", like Pope John Paul II had coined the phrased.

I have been watching the Fred Cooper trial and I must say, most of you have it all wrong--Fred Cooper terrorized and tortured Michelle Andrews while making Steven watch the whole event. After he killed her, he then shot Steven. If not Fred Cooper who? There were plenty of things that could have been stolen from the home. There is no one else except Fred Cooper.

Vern Saigal must own a hybrid vehicle. Let's see...Barack Obama's income tax increases AND $1.50 more for each gallon of gas. No thanks. The government should learn to budget better.

It's not difficult Vern. You click on Add A Comment and type in your comment. Sometimes the article is closed for comments, but that means your just not quick enough. Not difficult at all.

***PLEASE DELETE THE FIRST MESSAGE FROM ME, THANK YOU***

Jamie,
Yes, mistakes were made. However, when we stop and think back to the day the towers fell, everyone in the country and around the world was stunned. First we mourned, then as usual American's shook their fists and wanted blood. Anyone's blood, we demanded that our elected officials do something. LOTS of people were detained, and imprisoned for no reason. Some Politian's even saw 9/11 as a way to get even with their perceived enemies! Now, 7 years later reason has begun to sink in, regular Americans are now demanding accountability be made to anyone imprisoned. Americans are now demanding answers from our soon to be ex-president (as should have been done all along) to explain why he sent our young men and women into harms way. Now, our future has been placed into the hands of a descendant of slaves. We as a people are spoiled. We are, and remain to be the most powerful country in the world. Why? Because for most Americans, when mistakes are made, we own up to them and then over-fix the problems in the world. Now, if the President-elect can do the same for our own country, we will have truly learned from the mistakes of the past.

James-

Brilliant assessment.

To paraphrase, if I may:
Conservative judges will speak their mind, while liberal judges will hold the party line.

Not at all possible that this conservative judge is jumping on the incoming band wagon prior to the institution of the Obama changes?

A liberal politician would not have unconstitutionally imprisoned these people.

This is a perfect wxample of how conservative judges will alwys rule per the law whilte we see the more liberal judges will always rule infavor of the party who appointed them. This is a fair judge and this is why judges should be appointed based on their decision making rather than on their political affilations. There would not have been a ruling infavor of the prisoners if the judge had been appointed by a liberal politician and the liberal politician would have incarcerated these people.
