Two female cops – each pretending to be "maternal" in an effort to elicit a confession from an 8 year old that had NO adult representation. Makes me hope that when all is said and done, they are investigated. And if they have children of their own, the child protective services takes a good long hard look at them.

Child abuse, that tape was. Plain and simple. Any parent – well, REAL parent, would know by sheer common sense that a child that age NEEDS adult representation – cop or not. I've heard the same "I think..." statements from my own 8 year old when I confront him with something he may or may not have done – and there have been times where he did not – when I ask him leading questions. But that was when I asked him if he peed in the pool – not MURDER.

I thought cops were trained better, regardless of what backwater, hillbilly, cousin-lovin' community they were from... And St. John's Arizona ain't *that* backwater. How do those cops sleep at night, knowing they bullied an 8 year old while a real criminal could be walking free?

Did the kid do it – who knows? Maybe yes, maybe no. We will never know now – that poor kid's been tried and convicted before he even got a trial, and not a single member of his own family stepped up – and there are more questions than answers. But those cops, and several people posting "comments" already have Ol' Sparky polished up and waiting for his youngest victim. I weep for "our future".

children are so desensitized to violence that I can see one making a mistake like this; if he in fact did it. Why would a parent show a child how to load a shotgun and shoot it? He should not be tried as an adult however. Scince shows us that the frontal lobe of a child, the area of the brain that regulates temperment, reason, consequences of action, is in development. This child, needs help. Why do prosecuters believe that trynig this immature child as an adult is just? Scince shows that this is not the path to go.

This is a really sad story... but i truely believe that the police in this case would make an 8 yr old feel and make him think he killed his dad and his dads friend... look at what happened to Michael Crowe... they did the same thing to that boy making him think he killed his own sister... After the cops lying to Michael and telling him they found his sisters blood in his room which was a lie by the way Michael believed it because thats what the police told him and his parents were not in the room with him when he was being questioned. So which i think what we didnt see on those tapes with the little 8 yr old was the cops making him think he did it.

grace, i hope the law officers are fired and arrested themselves . should have no trial for abusing an 8 year old. just convicted and put in the worse prison out there and let the general prison poplulation take care of them. this is pure child abuse in every way, just done by a badge~~ i wish i lived there as i would protest the heck out of this police station and get everyone i could to join me. I would scream it to the roof tops to all the news channels as well and keep on from there. this baby needs to go home and now.

we say at least it was all videotaped so a judge can see, but i am worried as who knows if the judge has any sense. if it the same judge as before he doesn't as look where the little boy still is? I am just literally sick about this.

Our justice system sucks. These officers should be terminated. And sued by the boy's family for defamation and abuse. No way he shot the two adult males. For his sake, I hope he gets home soon, and that his mother is strong enough to overcome all this. He will never be the same.

Absolutely the cops would pin it on an 8 year old. In Chicago the cops pinned the kidnapping, rape, and murder of a young girl on her two older brothers who hadn't even reached puberty yet. They didn't even witness the crime, and yet they both confessed because over the course of many many hours of interrogation, with no lawyers or parents present, they were broken down by police. Later a homeless man was arrested and convicted on blood and other actual evidence. The idea that a lawyer would not be in the room for an 8 year old being questioned over such a serious crime tells me the police do not think they can play fair and still get a conviction. Something is wrong here.

I think it is extremely sad. I just cannot imagine how an 8 year old child could do what they are saying he did. Something is not right. He is so confused now I don't think he knows what to say or exactly what happend as it seems he has been given "leading" questions. It has made him look guilty when he may not be guilty. When he talks about putting them out of their suffering "jen" made a good comment about how you don't know what the father may have taught him about hunting and animals and how you are supposed to put them out of their misery if they have been shot and are dying. I am also wondering why there is no adult there to be with him to support him. I just can't understand the whole handling of the situation. I am praying for this child and his situation it is very heartbreaking.

PLEASE PLEASE, somebody help this little boy!!! I hope he has competent lawyers, he is going to need them.
I too believed his first accounting of his story, the,, the longer they talked to him, they got him to change it. I would like to know how long the actual interrogation went on, not just the length of the film, the actual amount of time they worked on him to get out of him what they wanted to hear.
