Neil Entwistle: Was he crying?

Posted: 11:06 AM ET

WOBURN, Massachusetts –The courtroom got to see a great deal of emotion out of defendant Neil Entwistle Thursday as he and the jurors who will deliberate his fate watched video of the crime scene which included images of the victims – Entwistle's 27-year-old wife, Rachel and baby daughter Lillian.

Defense attorneys admonished the media in a later press conference for even implying that Entwistle was laughing – insisting that their client was grieving during the playing of the video. The Commonwealth continues to build its case today against Entwistle with a day filled with crime scene photos, fingerprint and blood evidence.

Don't insult us. This guy (Neil Entwistle) WAS LAUGHING. Take a good look at Stephanie Page and her body language. She is incredulous, embarrassed, & shocked with her eyes dashing back & forth as if to say: "what are you doing!"

Fav   June 13th, 2008 11:19 am ET

Of course he was crying! the guy had tears around his eyes!!

You people really want to bring him down don't you!

I think the guy is guilty – but i think he did it to afford his wife the hardship of realizing their life wasn't as happy as she was lead to believe

He is greiving terribly! And i can bet he is absolutely regretting doing what he did!!
It's obvious he loved his family -but got into major debt, was afraid to work it out w/ his wife/ panicked and did some stupid things!!

Jen   June 13th, 2008 11:20 am ET

He looks like he's laughing not crying!!

aida   June 13th, 2008 11:22 am ET

whether or not he was smiling/laughing, he did not have tears or his body even shake to match his "stretched smile". Usually, a "normal" person will be so shocked that his body, just not his face will move. He was faking the pain for the jurors. After the video he was totally cool and composed and smiled at his family.

His attorneys are the perfect match for the defendant since they show extreme arrogance and think too much of themselves. Mr. Einstein is terrible boring and I cannot understand why the State has not objected to his repetitious questions.

Anna   June 13th, 2008 11:22 am ET

I watched this video several times and it sure looks to me like he was smiling or maybe I should say it was more of a smurk. Sure didn't appear to be any tears around his eyes.

Pat B.   June 13th, 2008 11:22 am ET

Well I watched it a number of times, and just the sight of him peeking through his fingers looked like a "naughty boy" seeing what he had done. I didn't se a tear in either eye. (note to defense, bring in a baggie of chopped onions and let him take a wiff). Some people do have odd behavior, he sure did. I think he's crazy like a fox and the defense doth protest(ed) too much yesterday. I think he will be convicted. I sure hope so.

Pat   June 13th, 2008 11:22 am ET

It appears that Mr. Entwistle had to work very hard to evoke the tears. The overly-animated expression covered with his hand was a case of acting (poorly) like he was trying a little too hard to appear to be crying until some real tears could be evoked.

Hope   June 13th, 2008 11:27 am ET

I watched the whole trial...He was laughing.

Jan   June 13th, 2008 11:34 am ET

Entwistle crying? You have got to be kidding – where were the tears?
I did not see him wipe them away did you......His grieving could only be for himself for being cought!!!!

Jan   June 13th, 2008 11:40 am ET

Entwistle crying? where were the tears? Did he wipe them away? I don't believe it for a minute!

patricia   June 13th, 2008 11:45 am ET

Yes, I think he was crying part of the time.....what amazed me was that he kept looking at the video. I could never have looked up..maybe once to what was coming then not again till it was over. He is guilty as heck. No doubt about it.
I wish somone would discuss what meal was left out on the kitchen table? May give more insight as to when he actually did kill them...was it breakfast, luch or prep for the dinner party. Also, why didn;t the Matterazo's go into the home and do a closet and room search??? I find that strange. Also, what about checking footprints in and around the house..surely the ""intruder"" did not come down the chimmney.

Joyce Bevins   June 13th, 2008 11:47 am ET

I have a comment about the Entwistle trial. Yesterday I came walked in the room when Entwistle was crying with his hand over his mouth. I did not know what had just happened or what he was watching. It looked like to me when he moved his hand that he was smiling or laughing. I really did not think that much about it because I did not know what was going on in the courtroom at that time. Now I hear today all the comments about him laughing. Most people if they do not shed a tear during the trial they cry when they are found guilty, so lets wait and see what he does at the end of the trial. Maybe he cries with what we thought was a smile. He will probably cry at the end totally different without even a hint of a smile. Let's wait and see. Thanks, Joyce in Umatilla, Fl.

HeWasTryingNotToLaugh   June 13th, 2008 11:50 am ET

I watched the video very closely several times. Every time I watched, I came to the same conclusion: Entwistle was trying to conceal the fact that he couldn't control his own amusement. He was covering his mouth and doing his best not to laugh out loud. There is no doubt about it. If you look at his face between the times when his mouth is covered, you see that he is smiling. I don't know what was so funny to him – that remains a mystery. But he definitely was NOT crying at all – he was trying to hide his amusement. And if you look at his lawyer, sitting beside him, you see that she was disturbed by his reactions, not sympathetic or comforting as she would have been if he had been crying.

Melissa   June 13th, 2008 11:50 am ET

It was almost as though he did not realize that a smile was emerging!!!

Karen FL   June 13th, 2008 11:50 am ET

I beleive Neil Entwistle was trying to react to something that he did not know how to react to. No, it probably wasn't laughter, even though it looks that way. Remember the nanny that was accused of shaking and killing the infant she cared for, she laughed when her attorney asked her if she killed the baby. That laughter did not seem to affect the jury, she was found not guilty. They obviously looked at the facts they were given and not nervious behavior.

Terri   June 13th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

My first thought when I saw the video was that he was laughing. He looked like he was trying to force himself to cry. I haven't seen any real emotion from this guy since this whole thing started. I think he is a very disturbed guy and that he is guilty of the charges against him. If he thinks a few crocodile tears are going to save him from prison, the he is even more stupid than he has already presented himself to be.

Suzanne   June 13th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

Mr Entwistle's reactions to the tapes was reported today by his angry stoic attorney as "grieing". She herself sat stoically and expressionless by his side without offering him a tissue to wipe his tears or even a touch on his shoulder for comfort. She failed her client yesterday by allowing him to be seen "grieiving" without the support of a caring attorney. The press did its job by reporting what was seen by many via TV, and those in the courtroom. Her anger this morning was misdirected.

Sue from CA   June 13th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

I do believe he was crying, only because he was crying for himself. How can anyone even think this guy isnt guilty? It's people who even have a doubt that are the really scarey ones. Dont be so naive.

kelly   June 13th, 2008 12:31 pm ET

When I watched this yesterday, the first thing I said was "he looks like he is laughing"

Barbie-Florida   June 13th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Ok, you cant tell me he was crying. I saw no tears . I saw him covering his smile and almost laughing. I have never seen anybody in my life-time with such a big smile as they cried.

Desiree   June 13th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

I watched this whole video yesterday and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Not once did I think he was crying no tears were visible. It's like whenever something gruesome or unlikely appeared on screen he would hide his face and laugh. I saw no sympothy from him at all whatsoever. How can you feel good about something like that these are suppose to be your loved ones.

sharon madison   June 13th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

If you can kill your wife and baby they need to find you guilty and you need to rot behind bars or get the death penalty. You ran to your parents thinking they would protect you and who protected your wife and baby?

Brandi   June 13th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

That man looks like he is laughing but trying to cover that up and pretending to cry. He is laughing like he is in a comedy club! I can not believe it would even be said that this man was crying. Clearly not!

alice   June 13th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

Well to be honest my first impression was he was laughing.

lauren c   June 13th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

how many times have we seen husbands or boyfriends accused of killing their wives or girlfriends put on this same act???
i could start listing them but don't have the time...
they scrunch their face, cover their face and squirm in their seats but one thing one NEVER sees and that is actual tears...
fake fake fake
and neil is no different...

Mrs. Harrow   June 13th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

Dear All,

I am curious, did Entwistle owed money to shady characters? Therefore, they killed the family and framed him for not being able to collect from him. He panicked and fled the country for fear for his own life.

About his demeanor, sociopath comes to mind? His eyes are soulless, no emotion.

Norma Smith   June 13th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

If Entwistle was crying where were tears. Things do not always appear as they are, but it did not appear that he was crying. I looked for the tears and did not see any.

jj   June 13th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

neil Entwistle looked like he was laughing to me the sick pig

Elise   June 13th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

Neil Entwistle wasn't smiling, but he was confronted with the horror of what he had done to his family and reacted. He must feel some guilt/regret for his actions to be crying so profoundly.

Toni Maine   June 13th, 2008 2:54 pm ET

It sure does look like he is smiling...there were no visable tears...looks like he couldn't take his eyes off the screen...I guess he wanted to see his work just like most killers...

Cathy from St. Louis   June 13th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

He was crying because he realized what was going to happen to him in prison. As well he should be. Hopefully torture every day!!!

Regina Kay   June 13th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

I thought his affect very peculiar and I'm a very experienced clinical psychologist.

Laurie -- CA   June 13th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

I had to do a double-take. It sure looked like he had a big smile on his face. So sad.

Suzie Walker   June 13th, 2008 3:37 pm ET

In all of my 57 years, I have never, ever, seem crying that could be mistaken for laughter. Those muscles used for crying and laughter are different.

maddie   June 13th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

I know Weinstein is defending Mr. Entwistle about the whole laughing/crying during the crime scene footage. But from what i see watching the video of Entwistle's face during the footage, it looks like a man pretending to cry while really laughing inside. I mean usually when someone is crying you see tears. I didnt see any tears, what i saw was a smile on his face. Lets not all lie to ourselves now. He has to be guilty. If you really loved someone (in this case YOUR FAMILY) and found them dead, and it really wasnt you who killed them, wouldnt you want to find their murderers and call police ASAP!!!???? Not fly out of the country with no word???!!!

Nicki   June 13th, 2008 4:05 pm ET

I don't believe he was crying, it looked like he was laughing. I didn't see any tears, even though he made sure he looked like he wiped them away.

Jo Marie Snyder   June 13th, 2008 4:07 pm ET

I seen the tape and thought right away that he was laughing for lack of tears. I am so glad to see others seen the same thing. It wasn't just me.

Joyce   June 13th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

I think if one is trying to cry, the face becomes distorted as Neil Entwistle's as one brings up the sides of the mouth to squeeze shut the eyes.

If one's emotions wells up naturally from deep sadness, there is, I think, no way the sides of the mouth come up looking like a 'smile'.

Beach Bum   June 13th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

What does the press want? They were all over Scott Peterson for showing NO emotion (he's guilty as sin, by the way) and now they're all over Entwistle for showing some.
True, it does appear he's laughing at times and I believe he is just a guilty as Scott Peterson but it looked like he was crying at times as well.
Had it been me at the defense table, guilty or not, I would have turned my head away from the video.

Sue   June 13th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

I thought he looked like he was laughing.......

Tammy   June 13th, 2008 4:39 pm ET

Boy, that didn't look like crying to me... VERY CREEPY.

Frank J Croce   June 13th, 2008 4:47 pm ET

HELL NO!! he was laughing Sick Freak

Aaron   June 13th, 2008 5:10 pm ET

At first glance while I was watching the live courtroom drama unfold, it seemed to be he was smiling at the pictures that were being viewed. But, as it went on, I could sense that he was in fact crying at it, maybe over remorse of what happened, or something as that.

K Hassan   June 13th, 2008 5:21 pm ET

I watched in horror at the clip showing the defendents reactions to seeing the tape of his wife and child's bodies, he appeared to be laughing, and he could not stop looking at the tape, I am convinced he was indeed laughing.

Ellen, Northern Ireland   June 13th, 2008 6:29 pm ET

he sure looked like he was laughing...he has a mental problem..and deserves what he gets!!!

Jessica   June 13th, 2008 6:30 pm ET

NO HE WAS NOT!!! It look like he was trying to make himself cry......

Betty   June 13th, 2008 6:49 pm ET

He was definately laughing.

Betty   June 13th, 2008 6:56 pm ET

He continued to look at the photos time and time again. Why? How could he keep looking at them? Why would he want to? If that was my family I would never be able to look at them in their condition. I would be too grief stricken. I just couldn't. I studied his face as he looked at them and he definately was laughing. He is a monster.

Gina S   June 13th, 2008 7:26 pm ET

Why can't I see comments posted by others? They were enlightening and informative to read. Now I feel like I am drawing ONLY my own conclusions.

Kerri Kelly   June 13th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Even Scott Peterson managed to get out a few "tears" at one point.

They "cry" only for themselves.

Kerri Kelly

Cate   June 13th, 2008 9:06 pm ET

My husband walked into the room and did not know what I was watching and asked, "What is he(Entwistle) laughing at?" That says it,

amy   June 13th, 2008 10:09 pm ET

Crying or not. Still did it!!

sarah   June 14th, 2008 1:00 am ET

That jerk was laughing. He is obviously anothe egocentered macho like scott peterson.

Ugh.

peroque   June 14th, 2008 1:06 am ET

I watched the video several times and that man IS NOT grieving for his family. He WAS laughing and smiling!!!! He needs to be put away before he does this again!

carol ann   June 14th, 2008 3:13 am ET

This man looks as if he was laughing. I think that it was an attempt at crying but it just "looked" BAD. I wonder if the jury took notice of this display?

Mike   June 14th, 2008 5:05 am ET

Okay, I just watched that video and was paying close attention to his expressions. It looked like he was trying to give the sembalance of crying, but I swear to god it really looked like he was smiling and covering his mouth to hide it. That didn't look like a genuine expression of grief to me. It definately did not look like sadness.

Edward C   June 14th, 2008 7:08 am ET

Looks to me like he was laughing. Scumbag

Lisa Hamilton   June 14th, 2008 8:36 am ET

Scott Peterson cried too.....A con artist and a sociopath can and will anything to fool those around him to gain advantage.

Space Invader   June 14th, 2008 9:26 am ET

He did it...His prints are on the gun, he was in debt, wanted a quick, easy way out of his marriage. Instead of paying off his debts, working on his marriage and/or getting a divorce, this sorry excuse for a human KILLS his infant child and his wife...He's going to get life without parole!! When he was caught in Britain, he had a newspaper ad for "escorts" ...What a douche bag!!

barbara   June 14th, 2008 11:09 am ET

this man along with all the rest of these nuts needs to die himself. if america would start executing these kind of people instead of spending billions of dollars to feed and clothe them people maybe would think allittle more before killing how and why can someone kill their child and the mother why not just walk away????????.

Katie   June 14th, 2008 11:16 am ET

It was OBVIOUS he wasn't crying!!! Of course, his defense attorneys defended him, but even watching the one sitting with him, it was obvious she was just trying to figure out how NOT to react to his "performance".

Lee   June 14th, 2008 11:37 am ET

He was only pretending
How on earth could he stand to look at pictures of his dead wife and baby if he wasn't guilty. Where were the real tears?

James Ward   June 14th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

There is NO DOUBT that Entwhistle was laughing in that clip.I know a smile when I see one....no sign of tears at all,he was laughing PERIOD!!

elaine   June 14th, 2008 6:08 pm ET

Theremight have been a few tears, but he sure looked like he was smiling to me.

Sandy   June 14th, 2008 7:03 pm ET

I realize everyone shows emotion different; however, I have never seen anyone smile instead of frown while crying. I do believe the man was crying but he should have hidden his face more, because I'm sure some of the jurors are wondering if that was a smile or not. Hopefully his attorney will clear that up a little during closing arguements.

kristi   June 15th, 2008 12:41 am ET

before the question was ever asked when i seen the video i said to myself he is not crying it appears to me he is trying to keep all from seing his big grin this is an outrage hopefully the jury will do the right thing

Gil. P.Cons   June 15th, 2008 3:02 am ET

yes he was happy, no other opinion.

Sharon Mancuso   June 15th, 2008 9:51 am ET

I watched the video over & over & the man was not crying he was laughing..

skeptical1   June 15th, 2008 9:56 am ET

It looked like laughter to me, with a few forced tears thrown in for good measure. If you were really that emotionally overwrought that your mouth gapes open, the natural bodily response to that would be a flood of tears I would think. Not just a few measly droplets which were barely visible. I thought it looked like the maniacal smile of someone totally mad, and then trying to squeeze out a few tears to cover up because he knows of course that cameras as well as courtroom onlookers would be watching his every move.

lyn   June 15th, 2008 11:35 am ET

In my opinion, Neil Entwistle "mostly" seemed to be smiling wnen the images were shown!

Vicki   June 15th, 2008 12:07 pm ET

The clip you are showing of Neil doesn't "clearly" show that he was laughing. There was one part that showed him laughing almost uncontrollably. THAT'S the part that you need to show your viewers!

Judy   June 15th, 2008 2:09 pm ET

It looked more like he was covering up a good laugh to me.

Alana   June 15th, 2008 2:13 pm ET

Absolutely not he wasn't. I didn't see one tear but I saw a twisted face that appeared to almost resemble a smile!~

Rita Evans   June 15th, 2008 2:15 pm ET

If Neil Entwistle was crying, then his defense could be insanity–it looked like hysterical laughter to me.

carole dicerbo   June 15th, 2008 6:45 pm ET

I watched him at the defense table covering his mouth many times. it is hard to believe, but he really looks like he is laughing. Maybe its nervous laughter, but its laughter.

Terry   June 15th, 2008 7:20 pm ET

He's faking. He was actually smiling andwas laughing a little which shows that he did it and isn't sorry about it!

jessica,florida   June 15th, 2008 11:47 pm ET

it was terrible. he is not the right a guy and he killed his wife rachel and baby lillian. i have seen that how it feel hurt rachel's family and rachel's family want to be have spend times with rachel and the baby. he should be stay in prison life and he have to be learn his lesson life!!! i see the picture of his wife and the baby are pretty and good picture on the tv .. i dont understand why he killed his wife and the baby lillan for??- he should not to get killed his wife rachel and the baby lillan. i will would like to said " i am sorry for rachel's parents and i hope rachel's parents is going to be allright!

Mandy   June 16th, 2008 7:29 am ET

I expect he is crying, but even if he is laughing, it should not be taken as a sign of guilt. It is not uncommon for people to have inappropriate responses in times of stress.

When I was eighteen years old, I was a passenger in a car that rearended another car on I-95 near Washington DC. The other car flipped over the guardrail, and as the driver (of my car) and I ran to see if there were any injuries, I could not stop laughing. Strangely, my mind was clear, I was not panicked, not injured myself, and I knew laughter was the inappropriate response, yet it was uncontrollable.

Neil Entwistle - guilty or innocent - is probably in one of the most stressful situations he'll ever be in in his life. It could be that something struck him as funny and set him off. He knows this is a bad time for him to laugh, he tries to stop ... and hence the tears.

diana   June 16th, 2008 9:00 am ET

It looked like he was laughing to me NOT crying. I watched the video several times just to make sure.

k-ma   June 16th, 2008 9:15 am ET

no

Kathy   June 16th, 2008 9:18 am ET

There is another problem with Mr. Entwistle's story. The police testified that they didn't know the cause of death of Rachel until the autopsy. Why would Neil assume that she was murdered and didn't die of something like carbon monoxide?

Kathy
Mobile, AL

Molly   June 16th, 2008 9:19 am ET

Neil Entwistle appeared to have a hysterical, laughing expression, during one point .
It was shocking to me.

ERICA HARVEY   June 16th, 2008 10:23 am ET

THIS MAN IS SOOOOO GUILTY, I DON'T CARE HOW LOVING OFA HUSBAND/FATHER HE OR HIS FRIENDS CLAIM HE WAS, ANYONE WHO LOVES THEIR FAMILY AND FINDS THEM DEAD WOULD CONTACT AUTHORTIES/911 ETC..., NOT RUN!!!!!-I AM SO CURIOUS OF THE MOTIVE BECAUSE I KNOW THERE IS ONE.

Klaatu   June 16th, 2008 10:39 am ET

It makes no difference to me if he was crying, laughing, picking his nose....dont care. He deserves and should receive the death penalty..

Lottie Grub   June 16th, 2008 10:40 am ET

Well to me it appeared he was laughing...for a man who lost his wife and daughter he should of been crying alot more that he was if in fact he wasnt laughing I have never seen someones face look like they are laughing but they are crying. it was a weird feeling...I beleive he was laughing ...just my personal thoughts

Amanda from Ma   June 16th, 2008 10:49 am ET

I don’t know any father who would be smiling while watching the crime scene of their young child’s death. Entwistle looked like he was smiling and to me it makes me think he is a psychopath, who can't handle reality.

Sharon   June 16th, 2008 11:43 am ET

If he was crying then I am the Queen of Sheba, the man was laughing..

Doreene Jardine   June 16th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

I,dont think the defence lawyer is rude as lesley suggested, but is grasping at straws

evelyn jose   June 16th, 2008 2:55 pm ET

Why do the court system waste tax payers money when the guilt is pointed to the husband, why would this man in up in england, not report the deaths of his wife and child, why would you just leave the people you claim to love in that state.

evelyn jose   June 16th, 2008 3:07 pm ET

i had chill's going down my spine to see the Neil Entwistle force the tears out of his eye's , the crime detail's itself is heart felt by every mother watching this trial, the detail and evidence points to him, i cant understand why he just left them in that state why he did not call the police and say something they had to be found according to the trial three days later, i hope he knows no matter what lies he tell to us as viewer's and to the family he can never lie to God, cause he was the witness to this crime he seen him when he committed it. he has to understand no matter what he will live with the faces of his wife and child looking at him even in his sleep asking the question why did you take away my life.......

evelyn jose   June 16th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

play the video back cause i and my sister said it did look like he was smiling, look and enhance video

Proud Buckeye   June 17th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

That was so sad to see truly FAKE crying!!! He was smiling under his hand the whole time! He was touched by sadness that's a bunch of BS!!

Anna   June 17th, 2008 2:48 pm ET

I cannot figure if Entwistle was so distraught how was he able to do all the flower ordering for his wife and daughter's funeral? He even did the ordering for his parents. I suppose Neil's parents were in a worse way than he was and were unable to order flowers. Therefore, Neil had to step up to the plate and do everything for them.

Yolanda Gutierrez   June 18th, 2008 12:24 am ET

I watched the video clip of Neil Entwistle supposedly crying and it gave me chills. For one thing, I was looking for real tears and not a drop fell down his face. He had his hand over his mouth so at first I did think he was crying, but when I noticed no tears, I also noticed at one point it almost appeared as if he was holding his hand over his face to hide his smile or as if he were laughing.

It did not look real to me, but a show put on for the Juriors. It also struck me funny the way he would put his head down and then peak back up to view the pictures. Who in their right mind would be able to view pictures of thier wife and nine month old baby laying dead? I would not be able to look at all and he was not turning away from the pictures very long at all. It looked totaly staged for the purpose of the Jurors to me.

shelley phelps   June 18th, 2008 4:24 am ET

When I seen that video it did look like he was laughing. He is sicker then Scott Peterson. this is a sad world when all these men are killing their wives and babies

rick haynes   June 19th, 2008 9:32 am ET

it shows that some folks just do not watch enough tv, this entwhistle guy commited these murders, and did not think anyone would look into his computer? this needs to be on the dumbest crimes show.

Linda   June 19th, 2008 12:18 pm ET

Well, if you think Entwistle was crying, you are all idiotis. I thought when someone cries tears fall. He is a tearless, coldhearted person. I can't enter the word "man" when it comes to describing him.

Jackie   June 25th, 2008 4:18 pm ET

I believe he did kill his wife and baby daughter and he has gotten exactly what he deserves but there is that part of me that is saying what if he did find them that way and just reacted in a very inconsistent way?? The detectives really didn't check all areas of the crime scene like they should have. Crazier things have happened before. I mean, it's hard for me to understand why any man would think it was easier to kill their wife than to just leave her. In Neil's case it would even be easier for him to leave than someone that resides here in the US. All he would have to do is go back to the UK and not return. There has to be more to this story than we all are being told because it just doesn't make sense to me. What was his motive??? It surely could not have just been because he was in a financial crunch or because he wanted a different kind of sex....that is not a reason to kill someone. It's not like he had embezzled money or had had numerous affairs...I just can't see a really good reason that he felt so desperate in using such drastic measures. It just doesn't all add up for me and so I do have that reasonable doubt within me that says, "maybe just maybe he didn't do it?"
