I have just arrived in the state of Wisconsin, jurisdiction of our next live trial — Wisconsin vs. Mark Jensen.

It may be 10 degrees here with snow everywhere but that won’t stop jury selection from beginning Thursday in Elkhorn, about 40 miles from Milwaukee.

This case is what movies are made of, but in this situation the result is tragically real. Julie Jensen, the wife of the man now charged in her murder, was found dead in her bed of what prosecutors say was intentional poisoning at the hands of her husband Mark.

Three weeks before her death Julie went to her son’s teacher, neighbors and even police telling everyone, “I think my husband is trying to poison me.” She even gave a sealed envelope to her neighbor, instructing that it should be given to police if she is found dead. Days later, she was indeed found dead. All of this will be coming into the trial.

This circumstantial case may not be so easy to prove, however. The defense is saying Julie was depressed and had just found out about her husband’s affair.

Julie committed suicide, the defense will assert,  masterminding an entire plan so that her husband would be found guilty of a crime he didn’t commit.

So get some hot cocoa and join me in front of your television sets as we analyze this intriguing case together live from Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

Wow, I’m so disappointed! I lived in Elkhorn for 4 years and moved away last summer. If I still lived there, maybe I could have been chosen for the jury!

Well, we’ll have to wait and see what else the state has for evidence!
Poisoning isn’t quick and it’s very painful so for a woman to use it would be very unusual. To frame her husband, I just don’t see it. She could’ve used a gun and accomplished the same–quick and painless–if that’s even the truth of it!

Am looking forward to this trial and hope it’s streamed live on-line also because the day ends too early on Tru TV!

I think this case will be very intriguing. So glad to see Jean again, and reporting for us. I will try and not jump to conclusions, but why would anyone poison themselves to send their own husband to prison. Just doesn’t make sense.

Very happy to that In Sessoin is broadcasting a new trial. Look forward to seeing this case develop. I’ll keep an open mind, but I can’t believe that she would poison herself. Where is the glass? There was no poison in the drains. Glad to see Jean reportin.
